A mill levy is a property tax that equals $1 for each $1,000 of your property’s assessed value. Check the chart below to get an idea of how much the 1.886 mill levy equals for properties valued at different amounts.

When people ask if Aztec Municipal Schools are using the two-mill money correctly, it was answered this week when the State Fire Marshall inspected the district, He stated that he inspects a lot of school districts in the New Mexico. Many of them are larger and newer, but none of them are as clean or well-kept as those in Aztec.  He also spoke highly about some of this things Aztec Municipal Schools have in place around school safety. It’s important for voters to know that Aztec’s schools  use mill money to keep schools safe and clean. Voters can help the schools continue to do this when they decide on the mill-levy question this November. Please vote.
